The 2023 Jeep Wrangler offers one standard engine and three available options. Standard equipment for all Wrangler models is the tried and tested Pentastar engine. With a 3.6-liter displacement and a V6 cylinder layout, the Pentastar engine delivers 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The first optional engine is a turbocharged inline-4 cylinder engine with a 2.0L displacement. The turbocharged engine lays down 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Jeep first introduced the 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicle powertrain to the Wrangler in late 2021. The 4xe system continues into the 2023 model year, with the 2.0L turbocharged I-4 engine seamlessly working in conjunction with two electric motors and a rechargeable battery pack. While offering up to 49 MPGe, the Wrangler 4xe lineup also delivers 375 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is available for the Sahara, Rubicon, and High Altitude trim levels. Exclusive to the enthralling Wrangler Rubicon 392 is a 6.4L HEMI V8 engine that rips out 470 horsepower matched with 470 lb-ft of torque. While Command-Trac 4x4 is standard for all Wrangler models, Selec-Trac, and Rock-Trac are also available. Lastly, standard equipment for all Wranglers, with the exception of the 4xe and Rubicon 392 models, comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. Meanwhile, available to all trims while standard on the 4xe and Rubicon 392 models is an 8-speed automatic transmission.
